Oklahoma is one of those teams that doesn’t rely much on their players in order their offense to be explosive and diverse. They lost their running back Samaje Perine and their offense is still elite. One of the reasons for it is that they have a very good offensive line providing blocks for both the run and the pass. Their tight ends are also good at blocking and their quarterback Baker Mayfield finds Dede Westbrook on almost every play.
Iowa State are a team that decided to build for the future and it really doesn’t have much to play for this year. Their defense is the worst at stopping the run and one of the worst at getting to the opposition’s quarterback. They will find themselves in trouble when they have to face this elite offense. That’s why I think Oklahoma will be able to turn this game into a blowout by beating Iowa State by more than 20 points.
