Notre Dame enters this week at 3-0 after beating Michigan, Ball State, and Vanderbilt. In their last game against Vanderbilt when they won by 22-17, their quarterback Brandon Wimbush passed for 122 yards with 13 of 23 completed passes. Tony Jones was their leading rusher with 118 yards on 17 carries.
Wake Forest started the season impressively by beating Tulane by 23-17, Towson by 51-20 and then lost to Boston College by 41-34. In their last game, Sam Hartman threw for 214 yards which was good for 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. Matt Coburn led the team in rushing yards after posting a 117 yards high.
Notre Dame showed prolific defense in their first three games of the season. However, they are not that solid offensively. This has the potential to be an old school grind out low-scoring game with both sides hanging until the end. I think the line is just too generous for us to pass on it. Wake Forest can score in bunches when they are given the chance but I believe this is their biggest test since the start of the season and they will find a hard time converting for most of the time.
