Notre Dame had a very successful season and it is mort probably the best roster the Fighting Irish have in years. They were unbeaten up until the last game of the regular season where they lost to Clemson. Not only did they lose to Trevor Lawrence but they were destroyed 34-10 and could not get anything going near the end zone. As a whole, the team is averaging 35.2 points per game on offense and allowing 18.6 points on defense.
Alabama is a different beast this year. The Crimson Tide abandoned the defense that made them a powerhouse and focused much more on offense. They are 5th in passing yards per game with 354.1 and 2nd in points per game with 49.7. QB Mac Jones is having a tremendous season, completing 76.5% of his passes for 3739 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. RB Najee Harris is also giving him a boost from the backfield as he is averaging over 100 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns per game.
Notre Dame seems doomed here. The Fighting Irish just do not have the offense in place, in order to compete with a team like Alabama. Alabama’s defense, however, is not very good this season and Notre Dame should be able to put some points on the board and cover the spread as 20 points are too many for such a defense.
