Kentucky was embarrassed on national television in the season opener against Duke. The Wildcats lost by double digits but then they bounced back with a decent win over Southern Illinois. John Calipari said that he’s figured out how he can make his squad perform better and with 4 days of practice since last game, we will see if that is true against a small school such as North Dakota. Kentucky is good on offense, featuring the freshmen Keldon Johson and Immanuel Quickley but the real asset on the team is Nick Richards who is a true shot blocker.
North Dakota started the season with two wins, including one on the road against Milwaukee by 3 points. The Fighting Hawks are not very efficient offensively but they compensate this with stellar performances on defense. They held Milwaukee to just 33% shooting.
North Dakota is simply not a good offensive team to keep up with the Wildcats’ offensive abilities. Therefore, I believe that this will turn into a lopsided battle from the first minute and we will finally see Kentucky scoring in bunches.
