The North Carolina Tar Heels are 6-6 and they had a great outing last week. They beat NC State 41-10 after a perfect second half of the game. They started the game slowly and they fell behind in the first quarter. The first half finished 6-10 but then the Tar Heels went on a 35-0 run, in order to secure the victory. QB Sam Howell was really impressive with his 401 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
The Temple Owls are 8-4 and they are just coming off a 49-17 win over UConn. They struggled big time in the first half but just like the Tar Heels, they had an extraordinary second half and got the W. QB Anthony Russo is completing 59% of his throws for 2733 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while RB Re’Mahn Davis is adding 900 on the ground and also 7 touchdowns.
QB Sam Howell is a freshman and I do not like picking freshmen to win a bowl game. However, he is a record-setter and he threw 35 touchdown passes this year which is incredible. The Tar Heels are the better team but this game will certainly be decided late. The line dropped a bit since day 1 and I believe that North Carolina now has an even bigger chance to cover it.
