The Alcorn State Braves will be playing in the Celebration Bowl after winning their conference with an 8-1 conference record and 9-3 overall. The Braves’ quarterback is a dual-threat and he finished the season with 1451 yards on 61.5% completion and 10 touchdowns with 8 interceptions. Johnson was also the leading rusher of the team, going for 664 yards on 89 carries for an impressive 8.2 yards per carry.
The North Carolina A&T finished the year at 9-2 and they also won the MEAC Conference. The Aggies won almost each of their games by a double-digit margin. Lamar Reynolds completed 54% of his passes for 1,247 yards and a solid 15-5 touchdown/interception ratio. Marquell Cartwright led North Carolina A&T on the ground with 634 yards on 132 touches with Jah-Maine Martin adding 392 yards on 59 totes.
The spread looks a bit high and it is not impossible for the Aggies to cover it, however, it won’t happen easily. They are clearly the better team and have more talent on their side, so I expect them to make a late push and win the game by a touchdown or more.
