The New Orleans Saints took advantage of the inexperienced in terms of playing together Tampa offense in week 1. QB Drew Brees was asked to throw the football 30 times and he completed 23 of his passes for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns. He is still exploiting short passes only and that will be the recipe against the Raiders as well. The defense played really well against Tom Brady and helped Brees with a pick 6 and a blocked field goal.
The Las Vegas Raiders escaped Carolina with a win in week 1 but the defense was atrocious. It allowed 30 points to Teddy Bridgewater and Christian McCaffrey while Robbie Anderson tore them apart- he went for 114 receiving yards and a touchdown. Derek Carr, however, played one of his good games last Sunday as he finished with 22 of 30 passing for 239 yards and a touchdown. RB Josh Jacobs added 93 rushing yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.
I expect both offenses to continue their uphill and play even better in week 2. The Saints will definitely put at least 30 points on the Raiders and I expect Las Vegas to show a bit more teeth than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, having in mind that they are led by Jon Gruden and a high-powered offense.
