Two Super Bowl contenders will go head to head on Sunday when the Rams host the Los Angeles Chargers. The Chargers started the campaign with a loss to the Chiefs where their defense looked like a college team. Philipp Rivers is completing 73% of his passes for 680 yards with 6 touchdowns and 1 interception. Melvin Gordon can cause lots of trouble in the backyard while Keenan Allen leads the team with 175 receiving yards on 15 receptions.
The Los Angeles Rams look like the most complete team in the entire NFL so far. They’re just dismantling whatever comes in front of them. Jared Goff has thrown for 587 yards of total offense with 3 touchdowns and an interception on 64.6% passing. Todd Gurley II has 150 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns so far. Their defense is doing their job as well, allowing just 6.5 points per game.
I don’t think that the Chargers can go past the Rams in this one and the home side will certainly cover the spread. Both offenses are in the top 5 of total offense in the NFL. This could easily become a high-scoring game and I will back the over as well.
