The Kansas City Chiefs started off this season the way they finished the last one- with an impressive win. They managed to beat the Houston Texans in a game where Patrick Mahomes completed 24 of his 32 throws for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns. Rookie RB added 138 rushing yards and a touchdown while the defense did its job to perfection, allowing just 20 points.
The Los Angeles Chargers might be in for a long afternoon on Sunday. Tyrod Taylor did not shine in his debut for the Chargers and he was unable to make enough plays to make the chains moving. He completed a bit over 50% of his passes for 208 yards. They scored their first touchdown of the game in the 4th quarter and this won’t help them against the Chiefs who are expected to score at least 3 by that time. Defensively, Los Angeles played well but let’s not forget that their opponent was Cincinnati.
The Chargers’ defense is certainly better than the Texans’ but the Chiefs are not going to take their foot off the gas. The Chiefs had an elite secondary that will make Taylor’s life miserable and will allow Mahomes to play with a lead since the first quarter.
