The Indiana Pacers started the season really well but since the All-star break the team hasn’t been playing well at all. They lost 9 of their last 13 games and finished the season with a 48-34 record. Oladipo had a fantastic season, averaging 18.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game while Bojan Bogdanovic is adding 18 points per game. Oladipo, however, is sidelined and he won’t participate in the playoffs.
The Boston Celtics also have a young squad but they also have veteran leadership in the face of Al Horford. The big man is having another good season, averaging 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game. Kyrie Irving continues to be the team’s leading scorer with 23.8 points, 5 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game, even though many analysts have noticed that the team is playing much better overall without him on the court.
Most of the Pacers’ squad haven’t been in the playoffs at all while the Celtics have the experience of getting to the Eastern Championship Finals. The Celtics will be highly motivated to start with a big win and I just can’t see Indiana getting anything on the road without their star player.
