Betting Prediction:
Brock Osweiler finally got some of his confidence back when he played well last week against the Raiders. He faced a team which never pressured him because the Raiders didn’t score as much as they would have liked if they had Derek Carr in the lineup. This week he has to prepare for a much bigger test against a Patriots’ defense that will take away the run and he will have to make big throws down the stretch. As we all have seen this year, Osweiler has been very inconsistent running the offense and that’s why he was benched for most of the time.
The Texans’ pass rush won’t be a factor in this game because the Patriots’ offense is run by spreading the field in a short-to-intermediate passing game. Tom Brady will make quick throws to his receivers for medium gains at best or he will give the football to LeGarrette Blount whom I expect to have big game with 100+ rushing yards.
The Texans’ defense looked good against the ‘Carr-less’ Oakland’s offense but Tom Brady will tear it apart on Saturday night, leading the Patriots to another AFC Championship Game, while covering the big spread.
