Match: Dominika Cibulkova vs. Simona Halep Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Saturday, 7 May, 2016
Start time: 17:00 UK
Dominika Cibulkova will face Simona Halep in the final at Mutua Madrid Open. The match will be the second in the program at Central Cort and will start around 17:00 UK.
Preview:
Dominika Cibulkova, world number 38, will face Simona Halep, world number 7.
Dominika Cibulkova starts her season on clay in Prague where she lost in the first match against Barbora Krejcikova. Madrid Open is her second clay tournament and she performs amazingly so far by beating Agnieszka Radwanska, Caroline Garcia, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Sorana Cirstea and Louisa Chirico to reach the final against Halep.
Cibulkova won already one title in 2016 in Katowice, but that title can’t be compared with the eventual trophy in Mutua Madrid Open.
Simona Halep had a bad start of the season with only 8 wins and 6 loses on hard. The Romanian starts her season on clay in Stuttgart where she lost her first game against Laura Siegemund with 6-1 6-2.
Madrid Open is her second appearance in WTA tournament on clay and she performed much better by losing only one set so far against Irina-Camelia Begu in the quarter-final. This will be a perfect chance for Halep to win first tournament in 2016.
Betting Prediction:
Dominika Cibulkova and Simona Halep play head-to-head four times and The Slovakian had three wins, but Halep won the only one match that they play on clay. The Romanian is definitely the better tennis player and I expect that she will lift her first title in 2016 after this match.
