The Dallas Cowboys reshuffled their squad a bit during the offseason. They enter this preseason with the mindset that they should have good enough backups for their starters. Under centre, QBs Ben DiNucci, Will Grier, and Cooper Rush will fight for the role of a backup to Dak Prescott. DiNucci played last season and even showed some potential, but his contributions were only a few, and we can’t really make anything out of them. Grier and Rush have similar stats, but most probably we won’t see Grier perform in week 1 of the preseason as he is currently listed as questionable.
The Denver Broncos added QB Russell Wilson into the mix and are now one of the dark horses in the whole NFL. His backups are Brett Rypien and Josh Johnson who would like to put big numbers in the preseason and clinch a role in the squad. Johnsonis the more seasoned QB, even though Rypien is seen as the one who has more potential. The battle will come down to the wire with Rypien having the edge for now, according to most experts.
The Broncos are the favorites here for a reason. They added quite a lot of veteran players in the offseason who might actually get snaps in the preseason.
