Kyle Hendricks was one of the best regular season pitchers with a 2.13 ERA. He did not face the Indians during the regular season and the Indians’ heavy hitters don’t know what to expect from him. He likes to mix the changeup with a curveball in order to strikeout a batter.
Josh Tomlin also didn’t play against the Cubs but Ben Zobrist has seen him many times during his career. Tomlin is standing at 13-9 and he has been struggling with the fastball, so he decided to count on curveballs and cutters.
I think Tomlin might struggle away from home as he has been inconsistent all season while Hendricks is unblemished at Wrigley Field so far. I think his good performances will continue on Friday.
