The Clemson Tigers are 13-0 and they are once again in the playoffs but they are actually ranked 3rd this year because of their relatively easy schedule. They have not played any elite sides and the only ranked teams they faced were Texas A&M and Virginia which they both beat. In the game against Virginia, QB Trevor Lawrence was sensational as he threw the ball for 302 yards and 4 touchdowns, helping his team to reach the 62-point mark. RB Travis Etienne also had a good outing as he finished with 114 rushing yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. The defense also got up for this and it forced two turnovers.

Ohio State is also unbeaten and it had a much tougher schedule. The team is coming off a very steady performance against Wisconsin which they won 34-21. QB Justin Fields finished the game with 299 passing yards and 3 touchdowns while J.K. Dobbins terrorized the front 7 with his 172 rushing yards and a touchdown on 33 carries. The team is averaging 48.7 points per game and allowing just 12.5. Fields has a sprained left MCL and it is expected to not be 100% ready but he will certainly play. That is also why the bookies are favoring Clemson in this one.

Clemson has been unfairly underestimated this year. The Tigers have not faced any tough opposition but that is not their fault. Justin Fields has many limitations even without the injury and I doubt that he will have a good time throwing against the Clemson secondary. Clemson is the defending NCAA champion and they will show the world why they won it all last year.
