Both Clemson and LSU are unbeaten this year and it will be a very interesting matchup. The Clemson Tigers did not face any elite opposition all year long before playing against the second-ranked Ohio State. The game did not start very well for them as they were trailing 10-0 after the first quarter. They managed to come back and win the whole thing. Trevor Lawrence does not have such a great season this year but he still has respectable numbers. He completed 18 out of his 33 passing attempts against Ohio State. They were good for 259 passing yards and 2 touchdown passes. He was also scrambling a lot and he added 107 rushing yards on 16 carries for a touchdown.

The LSU Tigers had a much tougher schedule this year, facing Texas, Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia. They beat all of those teams and that is why they are favorites, according to the bookies. The team is scoring nearly 49 points per game and it is ranked 24th in the whole country in that category. The defense needs a bit of work but the offense is so powerful that it overcomes any deficits the defense has. Joe Burrow is a favorite to go number 1 in the NFL Draft and he’s had a very great season, completing 77% of his throws for 5208 yards, 55 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is also helping a lot with his 1304 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns.

As great as Joe Burrow is, this is a stage that he’s never been in so far in his career. We all know what the Tigers did to Alabama last year in the Championship game. The LSU kids are certainly talented but Clemson is better coached and its defense has the ability to hold them as much as it is possible. The Tigers forced Justin Fields to throw two interceptions last time out and I believe that they will play well against Burrow as well.
