The Tampa Bay Buccaneers showed real teeth in the playoffs so far. After beating Washington, they went on to see off Drew Brees and the Saints, 30-20. The Bucs forced 4 turnovers and it was actually the defense who won them the game, giving QB Tom Brady field advantage on many occasions. At times, it was really obvious that Drew Brees was having trouble finding anyone open and the whole credit goes to Tampa’s defense who would want to repeat its performance against Green Bay.
The Packers, on the other side, blew out the Rams, even though their defense could not force any turnovers. QB Aaron Rodgers completed 23 out of 36 passes for 296 yards and 2 touchdowns. RB Aaron Jones was also very effective with 99 rushing yards and a touchdown on 18 carries. It was really a great Packers’ performance on offense but their defense was not tested at all simply because the Rams are not very prolific.
I don’t think the Packers got tested on defense at all last week. Jared Goff is very limited in terms of throwing this season and the Rams just couldn’t surprise Green Bay. This will not be the case when QB Tom Brady comes to town. He has tons of weapons to choose from and the Bucs’ defense will certainly force at least one turnover.
