Betting Prediction:
The Birmingham Iron have had trouble all year long on offense but it came back to life last week. The team bounced back with a narrow win when Nick Novak hit the game-winning field goal. The Fleet managed to score 29 points against Birmingham but I believe this was mainly because the Iron underestimated them. The team will certainly want to respond with a better performance on the defensive side of the field.
On the other side, we have the Memphis Express who just lost another game. They still haven’t resolved the problem with the quarterback spot. Mettenberger started last time out and it was a huge mistake on their part. He got injured and he was replaced by Brandon Silvers who played safe and handed one touchdown and zero interceptions.
It will be interesting to see if Johnny Manziel starts this week and that is why the Express are an enigma in this game. Birmingham has a strong defense and I don’t see how Memphis will score any points, especially with the quarterbacks we’ve seen play. Overall, I don’t expect the Iron to have any trouble in this one, even though they are on the road.
