I think the Bears whiffed at the start of the season by starting Trubisky. Nick Foles might be the better solution to their offense which will be weaker this season. The Bears lost Leonard Floyd, Trey Burton, and Eddie Goldman during the offseason. Both the passing game and the running game were missing in 2019 as Chicago was at the bottom of all offensive rankings.
Detroit Lions lost Matthew Stafford early last season and they were unable to recover from that. Detroit sent all-star Darius Slay to Philly but they acquired Desmond Drufant from Atlanta. A lot of people underestimate Trufant’s abilities to cover big-time receivers but I believe they will be surprised this year. They also got CB Jeff Okudah with the third pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is a special talent and the Lions’ secondary looks even better this year. The running game will be very interesting as there are three big candidates for the starting spot- Kerryon Jones, D’Andre Swift, and Adrian Peterson.
Lions have the quarterback who can win them games. Even though Chicago swept Detroit last season, they just do not have enough firepower on offense with Trubisky under center, in order to see off their opponents.
