The San Francisco 49ers ended their last season on a high note. They had injuries during the first half of the season and finished 10-7 at the end. They managed to get to the postseason where they consecutively beat the Cowboys and the Packers before falling to the Bengals. The 49ers are loaded on offense and defense, and there is no reason for them to have a less successful campaign. QB Trey Lance is expected to start the season, and that’s the only concern for San Francisco as he is inexperienced.
The Chicago Bears are nowhere near a capable team this season. They lost 5 of their last 6 home games and are in for another long campaign. All eyes are on next season when the Bears will have a big cap space to deal with. This season, though, we’re looking forward to seeing whether QB Justin Fields will make the leap and become a more accurate thrower. This is very questionable because Chicago has a lot of injured offensive linemen who will not be able to protect their QB.
Everything but the 49ers’ wins here will be a surprise. I like them to cover the spread as it is just a single touchdown, and we’ll see a lot of blowout losses for the Bears this year.
