Slovan had to play only one match, which ended in a goalless draw against Partizani Tirana in first qualifying round. The second leg was not played. The rival of Slovan, by the decision of UEFA, replaced Skenderbeu in Champions League qualifying and Slovan qualified in the next stage without a fight.
In the first round of qualification, Jelgava eliminated Iceland Breidablik, showing a bright game in attack and not sinless protection. However, the Icelanders gave way to the Latvian club with a total score of 4:5 on aggregate. Before the visit on Bratislava, Jelgava beat Metta / LU 2:0 in Latvian Virsliga. There the team is on 4th position with 19 points, five less than 3rd Ventspils.

Bookmakers believe that Slovak team is the favorite of the match, and it’s quite obvious. Jelgava still a very young club, has recently begun to make progress on the domestic scene. But I believe that Slovan will come out of the game with a good result.
