Betting Prediction:
Memphis is currently 0-3 but it appears that the Express are finally over Hackenberg. He did not throw any touchdowns in his 62 passing attempts so far this season and he will be deservedly replaced by Zach Mettenberger. Mettenberger played very well against the Apollos and he will certainly be an improvement over the inconsistent Hackenberg. The team, however, is not stopping much on defense and the players will need to step up against a good rushing side.
The San Diego Fleet, on the other side, switched off after a poor week 1 and got 2 wins in the following weeks. They also replaced their quarterbacks and started to rely more on the running game. They probably have the best backcourt duo in the league- Ja’Quan Gardner and Terrell Watson. The Fleet’s defense has also been very good and they have stopped almost everything so far.
I expect Memphis to score its first passing touchdown this week and given the fact that the team is playing under their own turf, they should be able to produce more against the Fleet side which is only relying on the running game.
