In a game from NCAA Basketball, we will see Providence at Xavier.
Betting Prediction:
Providence is 11-7 on the year and even though many people expected this team to be this inconsistent, it still a pretty disappointing season for them so far. The Friars have lost 4 of their last 5 games and they were all to powerhouses such as Creighton, Villanova, Georgetown, and Marquette. Nate Watson led the team in this game with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Alpha Diallo added 16 points and 6 rebounds on his own.
Xavier is also a very inconsistent team. They are 11-8 but they are playing better against reputable opponents. In their last three games, they beat Georgetown and Butler but lost to Villanova last time out. In the loss to the Wildcats, Xavier’s top scorer was Tyrique Jones, who doubled up on 21 points and 12 rebounds.
At the moment, I just can’t bet anything on Providence. The Friars have been abysmal and they are not playing close to their potential. The win over Seton Hall was nice but this is not a school that can be compared to Xavier. Although Xavier have not been very good either, they will be at home and I favor them to cover the spread.
