The Orlando Apollos were the first team in the AAF to clinch a playoff spot. They are also clearly the best team in the association. They have a high powered offense with a good running game and a solid quarterback play. The defense is not the best one but they can keep the opponents away and having in mind that their offense will keep the ball away from the other team, it is not necessary for the defense to be elite.
The Memphis Express caused an upset last week when Johnny Manziel helped them big time, in order for them to win the game. He is expected to start this week and we are intrigued to see him in action. He improved the team offensively and another such performance will be a great boost for the team.
The Apollos are the much better team but as we saw, Memphis can play well against good defenses. Orlando does not have a great defense and I expect to see many points coming each side’s way. That is why I believe that Memphis can stay competitive for the most part and cover the spread.
