Oklahoma will be a bowl contender regardless of the result in this one, however, they will surely want to finish the season with just 1 loss. The Sooners’ head coach summed up that the season was a success, even though last week they were not impressive in their 55-40 win over Kansas. Kyler Murray is a Heisman Trophy candidate and he is running one of the hottest offenses in college football – having 44 touchdowns, 34 of them passing.
West Virginia’s team is built the same way. The defense is missing and the offense is picking up the slack. Although they played against a team with many missing pieces in their offense, they lost the game by 4 points and allowed 45 points and 604 total yards. The defense won’t have an easy time in this one as well since they will be playing against an offense that is as much dominating as their previous opponents’ one.
The Mountaineers’ defense showed up against TCU before being dismantled by Oklahoma State. I expect the defensive players to show their skills on Friday against a suspect defense that just allowed Kansas to get 40 points.
