North Carolina was considered to be a favorite to win the Las Vegas Invitational but their loss against Texas wasn’t really unexpected, given the fact how well the Longhorns has played so far. North Carolina also nearly lost to UCLA as the Bruins were leading for most of the time before giving up the lead in the second half. Coby White stepped up when the team needed him most and scored 19 points to see off UCLA.
Michigan’s last game wasn’t that narrow because they played Chattanooga last Friday. They cruised past them and the freshman forward Ignas Brazdelikis scored 20 points and he also added 7 rebounds while Jordan Poole had 14 points and 6 rebounds.
Michigan is playing with a ton of confidence currently and North Carolina is very inconsistent. They get away with some of their wins but this will be an even bigger test than the one they had against Texas. The Tar Heels have the quality to beat Michigan on any given day, however, I’m not sure if Wednesday will be one of those days. The Wolverines rarely commit any turnovers and the Tar Heels have many defensive vulnerabilities.
