The New Orleans Saints are 5-2 and on a 4-game winning streak, after victories over the Lions, Chargers, Panthers and Bears. The only problems New Orleans faced this year were against high-powered offenses that score in bunches. They lost both of the games they played against such teams- Green Bay and Las Vegas. QB Drew Brees is on the downside of his career because he can no longer throw over the top. He has 1898 yards, 13 touchdowns and 3 interceptions this season.
On the other hand, we have a 6-2 Tampa Bay team after losing to New Orleans in week 1 and Chicago in week 5. They have the exact opposite problem- they can’t beat teams with solid defenses such as Chicago. The offense, however, is playing exceptionally well, averaging 30.9 points per game while the defense is allowing just 20.6 points. QB Tom Brady is completing 66% of his passes for 2189 yards, 20 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
Bucs’ defense is absolutely neutralizing the run- they even did this in their first game against the Saints. I expect New Orleans’ RB Alvin Kamara to have another abysmal game due to Tampa’s great run defense and it will be only Brees who will be asked to beat them. And I just can’t see him beating Brady right now with all his weapons.
