Louisiana Tech’s players take great pride in going after the quarterback. Jaylon Ferguson finished with 3.5 sacks last week in the week over UTEP by 31-24. Two of his sacks were very important as they were near their goal line and that way he prevented UTEP from tying the game. Their defense as a whole is starting to come around and we should expect more performances like these on a regular basis.
Florida Atlantic are coming off a huge loss to Marshall by 31-7. Their aspirations of repeating the achievement of being Conference-USA champions might be unrealistic now. That is mostly thanks to injuries on key players on their roster. Their best player on defense, the senior linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair is done for the season, wide receiver Dante Cousart is also hurt while quarterback Chris Robinson, safety Jalen Young and defensive tackle Marcel Southall are expected to return in the line-up.
I certainly expect the returning players to give a boost to this team, however, I do not think that this will be enough for them to take the W at home. Most of the players will be rusty coming off from injuries while the Bulldogs’ defense will be hunting them all game.
