The Houston Texans will be a bit different this year. They will have to live without star receiver DeAndre Hopkins who they traded for RB David Johnson. Johnson struggled a lot last season and that is mainly because of the bad offensive line the Cardinals had. He is now moving to a team that will still have such issues but will be playing with a more experienced QB who can take some of the pressure off his shoulders. Will Fuller and Kenny Stills will have to fill in the void left from Hopkins’ departure and I believe this will be just enough on offense.
There is not much we can say about the Kansas City Chiefs– defending Super Bowl champions whose window for another title is still open. The most important thing is that Kansas managed to keep all of their key players who averaged 28.2 points per game on offense and allowed just 19.3 points per game on defense.
The 9.5-point spread seems a bit high to me. Even though Mahomes and the company can outscore any opponent, I expect them to be a bit rusty, having in mind that this will be their first game since February. The Texans will most probably have an efficient running game and the Chiefs struggled against it last year- they were ranked 26th against the run.
