Game: Guingamp – Paris Saint Germain
Date: 25 January, Saturday 2014 year
Start time: 16:00 GMT
Day 22 in the French Ligue 1 offers an interesting contest. Championship leader PSG visits Guingamp on Saturday at 16:00 GTM.
Following a spectacular 5-0 win against Nantes, Paris Saint Germain will do their best to sustain their magnificent from and snatch up fifth consecutive win in Ligue 1.
Guingamp on the other hand, have produced plenty of solid performances so far in the season and find themselves in the second half of the table on a safe distance from the relegation zone.
Things have been looking great for the team from Paris lately. The mood is high in the dressing room and earlier in the week Thiago Silva once again reassured the fans that he is not leaving the French side.
Laurant Blanc is absolutely delighted with the team’s recent games (PSG scored 5 goals in two of their last four games) and will strive to maintain the current form as long as possible and carry it into the difficult Champions League matches PSG has in February.
Guingamp are amongst the most consistent teams in France this season. Gourvennec’s side lost only three of their ten games in L1, but still faces serious problems when it comes to scoring goal, so 5 times matches ended as draws.
In attempt to add to their upfront power Giungamp signed League 2 forward Mana Dembele last week.
An easy victory is expected for Louran Blanc’s side on the Saturday evening and the intrigue seems to be whether Guingamp’s solid defence will prevent another goal-parade from Paris Saint Germain.
