Tennessee is aiming for a 12th consecutive home victory against Eastern Kentucky. The Volunteers are coming off an overtime loss against Kansas and they will be looking to bounce back. It is really the toughest time for Eastern Kentucky to come to town- against a team that will be refocused and regrouped. The Vols have five double-digit scorers, including Grant Williams who is averaging 21.6 points per game. Williams and Schofield are one of the most dominating frontcourt duos in college basketball and I believe that both players will be on their best against a weaker opponent such as this one.
Eastern Kentucky ranks in the top 20 in scoring but they were hammered by nearly 30 points by Kansas State. Nick Mayo is averaging 25 points and 9.2 rebounds per game and I believe that he will give Tennessee’s frontcourt hard time for a certain period of time throughout the game.
I think that a 28-point spread is too high and even though the difference between the two sides’ quality is visible, I still don’t think that Tennessee will be able to cover it.
