The Detroit Pistons have been in a slump in recent weeks, losing 5 of their last 6 games, including 2 straight. They are coming off a 119-107 home loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. Blake Griffin led the team in scoring with 34 points and 8 assists while Reggie Jackson added 19 points. Detroit is currently 17-21 overall and 6-11 on the road.
The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t much better, either. They lost 5 of their last 7 games, including 3 in a row. They are, however, coming off a 107-97 road win over the Dallas Mavericks in a game where they dominated them in the second half. Brandon Ingram led the team with 29 points while Lonzo Ball finished with 21 points and 5 assists. As a team, the Lakers shot 43 percent from the field and 8 of 28 from the 3-point line.
Both teams are very inconsistent and the Lakers will also lack star power with Rajon Rondo, LeBron James, and Kyle Kuzma out. That is why I’m leaning towards giving the W to the Pistons who can play tough basketball and win against this young and inexperienced squad.
