Coastal Carolina is still unbeaten after defeating Arizona State last week. The Chanticleers were really dominant both on the ground and through the air. Their defense forced just 1 turnover but we have to admit that Arkansas State was really lucky to leave with that. Coastal Carolina outgained their opponents with 685 to 273 total yards. QB Grayson McCall had an impressive game with 18 of 23 passing for 365 yards and 4 TDs.
Appalachian State is 4-2 and the Mountaineers really had a great game against the 23rd Miami in week 2 where they only lost by 2 points. Last week, however, UL Lafayette beat the Mountaineers 41-13 in a game where the Ragin’ Cajuns did not leave any chance to their opponents. Appalachian State’s QB Chase Brice finished the game with 15 of 26 passing for 133 yards and 2 INTs.
Coastal Carolina has a good defense against the pass and I expect it to do well in this one. The Chanticleers’ offense is hot at the moment and we can expect them to have another big game where they will force Appalachian State to pass the football and commit turnovers.
