The Los Angeles Chargers finished the season strongly. They had issues with injuries all year, especially for WR Keenan Allen. When he came back from injury, the Chargers are 4-1, and their only loss came last week when they had already qualified for the playoffs. The Chargers have a really strong passing attack, averaging 269.6 yards per game. The rushing attack is not that elite but very effective as RB Austin Ekeler has 13 TDs.
QB Trevor Lawrence finally plays like a top-10 QB. He’s had a really good stretch this year. He’s also won 7 out of his last 9 games. He’s also received great help from his former Clemson teammate RB Travis Etienne. He broke the 1000-yard mark for rushing and also added 5 TDs. WR Christian Kirk contributed with 1108 receiving yards and 8 TDs.
Both teams played in a lot of close games this season. Both teams are also hot at the moment, winning most of their recent games after awful starts to their seasons. To me, Herbert has more weapons at his disposal, and I also trust Los Angeles’ defense a bit more. I’m siding with the Chargers in this one.
