Brazil will play against Colombia in a friendly match at Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on September 6th at 04:00 CET.
Brazil disappointed with the overall performance of the 2014 World Cup this summer. Selecao were quite convincing in most matches and defeat, which dealt from Germany and the Netherlands in their last two matches in the tournament were obvious sign that something the team is not in order. Goalkeeper Julio Cesar, midfielder Paulinho and defenders Dani Alves and Marcelo were missing from Dunga’s 22-man squad for next month’s friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador. Also injured Thiago Silva is out for upcoming two friendlies game. Injured striker Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg) also will not play in games this month. In its place was called Robinho, who currently plays for Santos.
Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho was one of several players to earn a recall, while Corinthians defender Gil and Cruzeiro players Everton Ribeiro and Ricardo Goulart have been called up for the first time in Brazil first-team.
The upcoming match is a chance for revenge for Colombia, which lost 2-1 to Brazil in the World Cup quarterfinals. Colombia star Radamel Falcao, who missed the World Cup after surgery on an injured left knee, is included by manager of the team Jose Pekerman on a list of 24 players. In the squad is and James Rodríguez, who made a very strong World Cup.
