On a Sunday evening Barcelona hosts Malaga and bookmakers see the home side as clear favourites.
Barcelona disappointed with their last two performances in La Liga. As far as a 0-0 away draw against title contestants from Atletico Madrid is acceptable, Barca’s last game surprised the pundits in a negative way. Levante held to draw their opponents and recently recovered Messi showed he needs more time to retain his form.
Earlier this week Martino declared he is not investing in new players, since the team proved its strength while dealing with the absence of injured Messi and Valdes. The manager is also trying to keep his players away from all the rumours concerning the possible fraud with Neymar’s transfer fee.
Malaga find themselves in the 14-th position in the championship. The team failed to win any of their last three games and it seems things will not change on Sunday.
However Malaga is one of the teams that play convincingly in defence this season in La Liga and their problems are in the attacking department. The last five games of the team ended with a total of less than two goals. 0-0 and on four occasions 1-0 was the final score.
Although Barcelona will definitely try to achieve a convincing home victory against Malaga, we don’t expect that the goal margin will be as great as Martino would wish. So considering an Asian -3 goals handicap for the away side seems like an interesting option in this game.
