The San Francisco 49ers started the season pretty badly but then they went on a 7-2 run to finish with 10 wins and 7 losses. The team had trouble with multiple injuries on the defensive side of the ball game and that’s why their statistics show that they allow 21.5 points per game. Their defense is much better than that as we all saw during the second half of the campaign. The offense is respectable, averaging 25.1 points per game.
The Dallas Cowboys had a decent chance of even clinching the first seed in the NFC if it wasn’t for their bad loss against the Cardinals a week before the season finale. The Cowboys are led by a very impressive QB Dak Prescott this year. He is completing 68.8% of his passes for 4449 yards, 37 TDs, and 10 INTs. Dallas also has another two key pieces on – RB Ezekiel Elliott with over 1000 rushing yards and WR CeDee Lamb with over 1000 receiving yards.
Dallas’ offense is much better than San Fran’s but also, their defense is much worse than the 49ers’. The Cowboys have just 1 win in 5 games against teams with at least 10 wins during the regular season. The 49ers showed much more consistency against the elite teams and that’s why I’m siding with them here.
