Match: Rafael Nadal vs. Lucas Pouille Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Sunday, 04 September, 2016
The 4th seed Rafael Nadal is facing 24th seed Lucas Pouille in the 4th round of the US Open.
The Frenchman is one of the players who have to spend most hours on the court in the first week of the tournament. He won his first match against Kukushkin in 4 sets after that made a great comeback from two sets down versus Marco Chiudinelli. In the 3rd round, he defeated Roberto Bautista-Agut from 1:2 sets.
This is his best career performance in New York and now he will meet Rafael Nadal at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Rafa, on the other hand, won his first three matches in straight sets – Istomin (R1), Seppi (R2) and Kuznetsov (R3). So the Spaniard will be very fresh here, he is playing great tennis and he should reach at least the semi-finals here considering that Gael Monfils looks like the biggest threat to him.
Nadal won his only meeting will Pouille with 6:2 6:1 in Monte Carlo (clay) last year. I expect another easy win for Nadal here because he is in great form and Pouille will probably be exhausted after spending 8 hours and 47 minutes on the court so far.
