Match: Novak Djokovic vs. Kyle Edmund Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Sunday, 04 September, 2016
Novak Djokovic will play in the 4th round against the biggest surprise in New York this year – Kyle Edmund.
Djokovic has played only one full match in the tournament so far – in the 1st round against Jerzy Janowicz. After that, he won with a w.o. against Jiri Vesely and against Mikhail Youzhny who retired in the 1st set. Kyle Edmund defeated consecutively Richard Gasquet, Ernesto Escobedo, and John Isner, losing only one set against Isner.
This is the best performance in a grand slam for the young British player and he is playing his best tennis right now. Djokovic won his only match versus Edmund without any problems – 6:3 6:3 in Miami Masters this year. Considering the fact that Djokovic hasn’t played enough minutes at the US Open so far and his light injury in the left wrist, I think that Edmund is capable of winning at least a set here.
