Match: Novak Djokovic vs. Jerzy Janowicz Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Monday, 29 August, 2016
The world number 1 Novak Djokovic begins his title defense in US Open against Jerzy Janowicz.
This looks like a very easy game for the Serbian who will be very motivated after the early disappointing loss at the Olympics against Del Potro. Janowicz ranked 228th, is having many problems with injuries this year and this will be barely his 5th tournament this season.
He had a decent match in Rio against Gilles Muller where he lost 7:5 1:6 6:7 and definitely reminded a little bit of his best times in 2012 and 2013 when he reached the final in Paris Masters and Wimbledon’s Semi-Final. His only appearance in Grand Slam this year was in Australia – 1st round loss against John Isner 3:6 6:7 3:6.
His best weapon is the serve of course but it’s not working well for a long time. I can’t see how he can win more than 3-4 games per set against the world number 1 and best returner of serve. Expected result for me here is something like 6:2 6:3 6:3 for Nole.
