Match: Jack Sock vs. Taylor Fritz Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Monday, 29 August, 2016
One of the most interesting 1st round games is definitely between two of the home crowd favorites Jack Sock and Taylor Fritz.
Jack Sock, seeded 26th, is not meeting the expectations this year and has a 22-15 (win-loss) record this year. He has reached two finals in 2016, both of them on ATP250, both of them lost. He was defeated in the 1st round at the Olympics by Taro Daniel which was a really unexpected loss for 23-year old American so now is a good chance for his to get on the winning track.
Fritz is the biggest American hope for the future as he’s having an amazing 1st full season on the ATP level. He reached the final of just his third ATP tournament, this February in Memphis. He’s also the youngest player directly entered into this year’s US Open draw on merit of his ranking. The winner here will possibly have an easier opponent in the 2nd round – Misha Zverev or Pierre-Hugues Herbert.
This is second meeting between Sock and Fritz as the first one was at Australian Open this year – Sock won the game 6:4 3:6 0:6 6:3 6:4. Fritz is still without a win in Grand Slam’s main draw and the reason for that is that he’s still suffering with playing in “best of 5 sets” format. This is why i choose Jack Sock here.
