Match: Grigor Dimitrov vs. Andy Murray Preview, Predictions and Betting Tips
Date: Monday, 05 September, 2016
Definitely, the most interesting match in the 4th round is expected to be between Grigor Dimitrov and Andy Murray.
The Bulgarian finds himself in great form and is definitely playing his best tennis since 2014. He reached the quarter-finals in Toronto and the semi-finals in Cincinnati where he was about to defeat Cilic and play against Murray in the final, but he didn’t succeed to close the match.
Dimitrov didn’t have easy run to the 4th round, he had to beat Chardy in the 2nd round after being 1-2 down and after that he eliminated Joao Sousa in 4 sets but he had some ups and downs in that match which he can’t repeat against Murray if he wants to play his first quarter-final in New York. Andy is the best player on the tour right now, he had easy first two round at the US Open this year but then he played a very strange match against Paolo Lorenzi.
The British player definitely got himself in a lot of troubles in the first two sets but still managed to win the match in 4. Dimitrov is a very tough match-up for Murray but he leads the h2h with 6-3 wins. They met each other once this year at Miami Masters and Grigor got the win in 3 sets and this win came in a time when Grigor couldn’t win two matches in a row. We all know that the Bulgarian loves to play matches at the biggest arenas versus top players so we can definitely expect one huge match at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
I expect at least 4 sets here and I think that Grigor can win this game if he brings his A-game. If he isn’t at his best, Murray will be the winner here.
